There were joyous scenes of jubilation at Michael Fay Park this afternoon as the Longford Slashers ladies football side created history by becoming the first club from the county to secure their place in the All-Ireland Ladies Intermediate Club Final. With Kate Shannon blasting home the game's only goal, resilient Slashers registered a hard fought 1-11 to 0-10 victory over Mayo and Connacht champions Charlestown and they will now will play Mullinahone (Tipperary) in the All-Ireland decider at Croke Park on Saturday, December 10. Sportsfile photographer Harry Murphy was at Michael Fay Park, home of Longford Slashers, to capture some fine images of an historic victory for the home side and we hope you enjoy them. Don't forget to tag and share with your friends and best of luck to Slashers in the All-Ireland Final!!
