Longford gardaí clamp down on motoring offences

In the lead up to December Longford gardaí are clamping down on motoring offences.

Following an automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) warning, gardaí from the Longford Roads Policing Unit stopped a car in Longford town which wasn't taxed and the driver was unable to prove they had insurance. 

The car was seized and court proceedings to follow. 

While on duty in Kenagh, gardai arrested a motorist who had no insurance, tax or NCT. 

The Mobility App revealed that the driver was also disqualified. The car was seized and court proceedings to follow. 

And while conducting a speed checkpoint recently, Longford Road Policing Unit detected a vehicle travelling at 100 kph in a 50 kph zone. 

The driver also had no NCT. Proceedings to follow.
