Ballymahon stands with Ukraine as local businesses set up drop-off points for supplies

A Ballymahon pharmacy has offered its help to the ongoing Ukrainian humanitarian effort by launching a public appeal for donations and vital everyday supplies.

O'Hanlon and Ballymahon totalhealth pharmacies have joined forces with a locally based Ukrainian refugee support group to aid scores of families affected by the escalating crisis.

The group have been looking for donations of toiletries and non-perishable goods and have shipping arranged for the goods to areas of Poland for early next week.

"The shipping of the donations is happening early next week so we have a short time period in which to focus our efforts," said a spokesperson.

Collection points have been set up in both pharmacies in an effort to raise as much needed donations as possible with a view to dispatching them to areas within Poland where Ukrainians are fleeing to and also to the Polish/Ukraine border.

The appeal has also been posted on O'Hanlon Pharmacy's Facebook and Instagram channels with the firm asking as many people as possible to share it to their own pages and multimedia platforms.
