Longford's Hazel and Hilary Robinson are both embarking on the long journey to Poland - by boat and by road - to deliver supplies this week for the people of Ukraine impacted by the Russian invasion
The escalating Ukrainian crisis has prompted two locally based groups to join forces in a bid to provide much needed provisions to scores of families affected by an ever intensifying Russian invasion.
Helping Hands Longford, a nonprofit organisation and local charity, Hungry Horse Outside are currently in the throes of readying a large scale shipment for the war-torn Eastern European country tomorrow (Thursday).
Hazel Robinson, together with her mother Hilary are preparing to drive to Poland and deliver dozens of donations after an appeal was issued in recent days by its main organisers Tena Keown and Geraldine McNally.
“We are just putting the word out there, but it's you (public) who's making the donations and making this possible,” said Tena.
