A man is currently appearing before Castlrea Distric Court charged with the fatal shooting of Detective Garda Colm Horkan shortly before midnight on Wednesday.
The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested at the scene of the shooting and detained at Castlerea Garda Station.
He was due to appear at a special court sitting at 10.30pm tonight.
