The funeral arrangements for the late All-Ireland winning manager and Longford Leader Managing Editor Eugene McGee have been announced.

The Aughnacliffe native, who is predeceased by his brothers Fr. Phil and Páid and sisters Sr. Kathleen and Alice, will be sadly missed by his wife Marian, son Conor, special daughter Linda, daughter-in-law Saoirse, sisters Ita (O'Dowd) and Evangeline (Cummins), brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and a wide circle of friends.

Eugene’s body will be reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home on the Ballinalee Road Longford (N39 EC81) on Wednesday, May 8, from 4pm. This will conclude with prayers at 9pm.

The removal will take place on Thursday, May 9, and is due to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral in Longford town for Mass of the resurrection at 11am. The burial will take place afterwards in Colmcille Cemetery

Family flowers only please, with donations to St Christopher’s Services in Longford if desired. The McGee house will remain private.
