The Easter Bank Holiday weekend looks set to be a scorcher in Longford, with Met Éireann forecasts stating that temperatures could reach as high as 23 degrees in parts of Leinster.
Friday will be a dry and calm day overall, with forecasts of long spells of ‘warm, hazy sunshine’. Temperatures on the day are expected to be slightly higher than previous days, ranging from 16 degrees to as high as 21 degrees in places. Inland Leinster will witness the best values. The grass pollen count will also be high on Friday.
The dry weather is expected to continue into Friday night, with long clear spells and some mist and fog patches forming overnight. Lowest overnight temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
The warmest weather is forecast for Saturday, which will be another warm day according to Met Éireann. Again, there will be prolonged spells of warm, hazy sunshine during the day, mainly in Leinster and parts of Munster. Top temperatures on the day of 16 to 23 degrees Celsius.
On Sunday, temperatures are expected to remain between 16 and 20 degrees, in what will be a predominantly dry day with good spells of hazy sunshine expected.
