Sharyn Ward beaten to Ireland's Got Talent crown

Longford's Sharyn Ward sails through to Ireland’s Got Talent final

Dance group BSD have walked away as winners of the Ireland’s Got Talent final, taking home a prize of €50,000 and as well as an hour long television special on Virgin Media Television.

BSD faced a stellar line-up of the most talented singers and dancers in Ireland in their quest for glory, including Longford’s Sharyn Ward, Rebel Acro, Jake O’Shea, Fly Youth, Fionn McMorrow, Sharon & Brandon and Sea of Change.

Irish singer Sharyn Ward did both herself and Longford proud on the night, as she sang to hundreds of thousands of people in Ireland, staying true to her roots with a magical rendition of One Starry Night. She chose this song as it makes her proud to be a traveller.

Judge Michelle told her: ‘I love your tradition, I love your pride and I love your voice I am going to buy the Sharyn Ward album’.

Jason Byrne said: ‘You’re such a lovely human, this is the first time someone has been out on their own on the stage tonight and you were fantastic’.

Louis and Denise also added their support for Sharyn.

Louis said: ‘I loved you from your very first audition, you should make a record of all the great Irish songs”

Denise added: ‘ I think you’re fabulous, I could never tire of watching you sing, you are so special’.

Unfortunately for Sharyn, however, BSD were named as the official winners of All Ireland’s Got Talent, after a very polished and energetic final performance.

Jason was very proud of his Golden Buzzer telling them: ‘You were brilliant, no gimmicks, pure dancing people need to vote’,

Louis Walsh added: “You are so exciting to watch, and your hard work has paid off.”
