Moves afoot to extend Longford Crime Prevention Ambassador Programme

Gangland crime forces cancellation of all Garda leave in Louth

An information meeting will be held on Friday in Longford's Temperance Hall in a bid to extend the Longford Crime Prevention Ambassador Programme

Longford Older Persons Council and Longford Community Gardaí are hosting an Information Meeting to extend the very popular Longford Crime Prevention Ambassador Programme which is currently running in Longford.

The Longford, Granard and Ballymahon Community Policing Unit will attend the Information meeting along with members of County Longford Older Persons Council who are volunteers on the programme.

The aim of the programme is to make everyone particularly our older citizens and those living alone feel safer in their own homes and to build better links between the gardai and the community.

The meeting will take place in the Temperance Hall Longford Friday next April 5 at 11am. Everyone welcome. For further information please contact Longford Library 0433341124.
