Eliska from Granlahan Foroige Club, Darragh from Loughglynn Foroige Club, Shauna Gilbride from Ballymahon Foroige Club and Jim Maher, Regional Youth Officer.
Last weekend, Shauna Gilbride and Kellyann Prendergast attended the Longford/ Roscommon regional conference in Strokestown.
This was a collective meeting of the region’s Foroige clubs where topics such as social media and LGBTgiap+ issues were discussed.
Congratulations to Shauna Gilbride who was successfully elected to the Foróige National Reference panel 2019.
Shauna will be one of 64 young people who will gather together to represent the views of all members of Foróige, from Clubs to Projects to Youth Services.
Shauna and the club chairperson Kellyann Prendergast, put themselves forward for nomination and both delivered a passionate and courageous speech asking the group for their vote.
Both girls spoke about their personal development gained from being part of Foróige and the changes they wish to see for the benefit of all members nationwide.
Unfortunately Kellyann was unsuccessful this year but the Regional Youth Officer, Jim Maher gave her a special mention for her fantastic contribution.
