Nelvin Appiah

This super action photograph featured on the front page of this week's Longford Leader was captured by Sam Barnes of Sportsfile, during the Irish Life Health Junior and U23 Indoor National Championships at AIT International Arena on Sunday.

It shows Longford's Nelvin Appiah in full flight as he finished second in the National Junior Men's Indoor High Jump, clearing the bar at 1.96m.

It was a great day for Longford Athletic Club with Cian McPhillips winning a gold medal in the Junior men’s 1,500m in a time of 3.54.77, breaking Kevin Walker’s record set in 1996, and Yemi Talabi also won a silver medal in the Junior Women's Long Jump 5.24m.
