A man was remanded on bail during a district court sitting in Longford last week after pleading not guilty to sexually assaulting a minor on dates between 2009 and 2010.

Garda Pat Moolick said he arrested the defendant prior to the court sitting and indicated to the judge that while gardaí had no objections to bail, conditions would need to be applied.

The court also heard that the Book of Evidence in the case would not be ready until April.

Judge Fiona Lydon subsequently adjourned proceedings and ordered the defendant to appear back at Longford District Court on April 20 next.
