Longford hit with new STATUS ORANGE weather warning for Friday night

Met Éireann have issued a new Status Orange snow-ice warning covering Longford for Friday night.

The warning was issued at 4pm and covers all of Munster, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan and Galway.

Met Éireann predicts further snow accumulations continuing to increase due to further falls of snow on Friday evening and overnight.

The warning remains in place until 9am on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a Status Red warning has been extended until 9am for Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford, Meath and Kildare.
