Bank of Ireland's main offices in Longford town has been put up for sale

Bank of Ireland bosses have moved to scotch speculation over the lending institution's long term future in Longford town after its head offices were put up for sale.

Those assurances come despite offers being invited for the three storey building it currently leases on Main Street.

A spokesperson said there would be "no disruption to services" during the sale process.

The bank is tied into a 25 year long term lease for the 5,000 sq ft premises.

No price has been attached to the property although the successful buyer can expect to secure an annual rental yield of over €133,000 per annum.
