A man who appeared at last week’s sitting of Longford District Court charged with assault was sent forward for trial to Longford Circuit Court, following a short hearing into the matter.
Darren Carberry (24), Woodlawn, Killashee, Co Longford appeared before Judge Seamus Hughes charged with assaulting a man and causing him harm at Mary Street, Drumlish on August 22, 2016.
Garda Liam Doherty told the court that he had served the Book of Evidence on the defendant just prior to the court hearing.
The court also heard that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had indicated that the defendant be sent forward for trial on indictment to the next sittings of Longford Circuit Court.
After issuing the defendant with the Alibi Warning, Judge Hughes subsequently ordered him to appear at Longford Circuit Court on February 15, 2018.
