€3.75 million paid to Longford councillors over past seven years
The elected members of Longford County Council received €480,510.56 in gross representational payments, allowances and expenses during 2017.
The figures were published yesterday by the local authority.
Over the past seven years, 2011 to 2017, thirty representatives served on the County Council and between them they've received €3,751,962.45 in payments and expenses.
Top five payments in 2017 were made to;
Cllr PJ Reilly (Fianna Fáil) €33,921.06
Cllr Mark Casey (Independent) €32,297.66
Cllr Mick Cahill (Fianna Fáil) €31,073.73
Cllr Micheál Carrigy (Fine Gael) €30,299.77
Cllr Gerry Warnock (Independent) €28,010.16
