Longford quartet sent forward for trial to Circuit Court

Four  people were sent forward for trial to the next sitting of Longford Circuit Court following a brief hearing at Longford District Court last week.

Ailish Nugent (30), 9 Auburn Lodge, Prospect Woods, Longford appeared before Judge Seamus Hughes charged with robbing Marek Brezezinski of a wallet containing €350 at Glebe, Moydow, Longford on May 26, 2016.

Rosaleen Kelly (29) and Patrick Nugent (26) both of no fixed abode also appeared before Judge Seamus Hughes charged with robbing Marek Brezezinski of a wallet containing €350 on the same date, as did Seamus Coss, 9 Auburn Lodge, Prospect Woods, Longford.

During last week’s hearing, Garda Liam Doherty told the court that he served all four  defendants with the book of evidence in the case.

Inspector Blathaín Moran said the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had directed that the defendants be sent forward for trial on indictment at the next sitting of Longford Circuit which begins on May 23 next.

Judge Hughes subsequently issued the defendants with the Alibi warning and they were remanded on continuing bail until May 23.
