Over 40 Longford businesses attended a Best Practice networking event at the recent Shingo Prize-winning company Abbott Diagnostics last week.
The event was hosted by the Midland Regional Skills and the Irish Centre for Business Excellence (ICBE) in conjunction with Abbott Diagnostics and Longford County Council.
The Shingo Prize is a worldwide recognised best in class award that recognises an organisation’s successful creation of a culture anchored on the principles of enterprise excellence, continuous improvement and results.
At the event, Stephen Kelleher, Business Excellence Manager, Abbott Diagnostics gave a presentation and a Best Practice site tour on the importance of Culture, Behaviours, Enterprise Excellence, Continuous Improvement and what winning the Shingo Prize means for Abbott Diagnostics Longford.
"It was wonderful to see so many businesses in attendance at this second networking within Industry meeting. The interest shown by local businesses is a real statement on how vital it is that we work together to continue to attract more industry to Longford and to ensure that the right types of skills are available here in the midlands region,” he said.
