Down Memory Lane in Longford: Special Papal welcome for Longford group

For the young lads of St Mel's Boys Choir and their families, the last week has been unforgettable. Not alone were they on a trip of a lifetime to Rome but a number of them also met the Pope in person.

Peggy Nolan from the Demesne actually received a Rosary beads from His Holiness in person. The Pope was over talking to some sick people when he noticed the Irish badge on Mrs Nolan: “Oh Irlanda, I'm very pleased to see you”, he said  and handed her the Rosary beads.
