Longford County Council has set its sights on splashing out more than €40m over the next three years on a wide range of locally based projects.
Head of Finance John McKeon released details of the ambitious plan at a meeting of Longford County Council last week.
He said the Council hoped to spend over €43m between now and 2019 across six departments.
More than two thirds of this total, he said, was intended to be allocated towards various housing and building projects.
Mr McKeon did, nontheless, warn were “very aspirational in nature” and were subject to grant aid from central government.
