Festive cheer with Ardscoil Phádraig's panto

The students of Ardscoil Phádraig, Granard, will present their first ever Christmas Pantomime ‘Sinbad and the Thirty-Nine Mermaids on Ice…3’ on December 15 next, to much acclaim.

It will be performed on that date with both a matinee and evening performance on the day.

“We are all very excited about this; everyone has put in a huge effort and the excitement is definitely mounting here at Ardscoil Phádraig,”  said Ms Rabbitt.

“Students from first year to TY have been taking part in this exciting project and they have really been getting into the panto spirit over the past few days.”

Meanwhile, the Panto centres around the lives of some of the most loved fariytale characters. It is a mish-mash of fairy tales and much-loved childhood stories, featuring characters such as a spoilt and stuck-up Cinderella; a nervous but gutsy Sinbad; a Captain Hook with an identity crisis; Ariel the little but temperamental Mermaid and a director who is trying to get the whole show on the road!

From mermaids to dwarves and from Mrs Claus to Pat the Baker, this panto at Ardscoil Phádraig in just over a week's time is guaranteed to be  one hell of a show, as the festive spirit takes hold in the north Longford town.

Mr Byrne and Ms Rabbitt said they were delighted with all of the hard work and enthusiasm that students have brought  to the panto and everyone is looking forward to what will no doubt be great night’s entertainment.
