Solstice choir to perform for Cloonfour NS

The Roscommon Solstice Choir will perform an evening of Christmas carols in aid of Cloonfour National School in Whitehall Church on Sunday, December 18 at 7:30pm.

A co-educational primary school, Cloonfour NS is  located between Tarmonbarry and Rooskey in Co Roscommon.

The school, whilst small, centres itself on providing an effective positive learning environment for all children. The school has embraced recent educational developments and initiatives such as Aistear, Food Dudes, Green Schools Programme, Write a Book Project and Bord Gáis Student Theatre Awards.

The school also offers a wide range of after-school activities including basketball, French lessons and GAA coaching to mention a few!

“We are delighted to have the Roscommon Solstice Choir assist us in our much needed fund raising efforts,” Ms Ciara Kearney, Principal of Cloonfour NS, said.

“To have such a well-known professional group behind us is a much-welcome honour. I have no doubt that this will be an unforgettable night with the talent the Choir brings.”

The children of Cloonfour NS are well experienced in participating on stage from their numerous Christmas drama productions and performances in the local St Barry’s GAA hall, and they are gearing  up for their own choral piece on the night.

Tickets, priced at €10 per adult and €2.50 per child, are available from parents, from Ciara on 087 2590241 or from the school on 071 9638177.
