Grass cutting and slurry equipment manufacturer Major Equipment Intl Ltd, is hosting an Open Day on Saturday, December 3 from 2pm until 5.30pm at its factory on the Charlestown Road in Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo.
This event is being organised for applicants of the TAMS II scheme or anyone considering upgrading their slurry handling operations or grass mowing equipment.
Applications for the scheme have been submitted already, but many farmers and contractors are expressing uncertainty about what system is most suitable for their circumstances.
“The Low Emission Slurry Spreading scheme under TAMS is encouraging a move towards a more environmentally sound method of slurry application,” explained Martin Walsh from Major Equipment.
“However we are getting a lot of enquiries from our customers who are unsure what system to choose,” he said.
The businessman said that while there were plenty of manufacturers of slurry application equipment to choose from, the options available can be bewildering, with some products not suitable or appropriate for Irish conditions.
Representatives from Micro Hydraulics Ltd, Vogelsang Injection Systems and First Citizen Agri Finance will also be there on the day to offer advice and answer any queries people may have. Major will also be showcasing a range of grass toppers including their Cyclone Mower.
There will be refreshments available on the day and anyone considering moving to a trailing shoe or dribble bar system is urged to attend. For more information call Major Equipment Intl Ltd on 094 9630572 or visit www.major-equipment.com.
