Enjoy a night at the races with the Killoe ladies

The Olde Forge, Killoe is the place to be on Saturday, November 12, as Killoe ladies host a night at the races.

Organised as a fundraiser for the ladies team, the evening will also act as a celebration for the side who secured the senior ladies championship win, along with five cups  this year.

“The race night had been done years and years ago,” explained Vice Chairperson of the club Orla O'Hara. “Every year we try to do some sort of fundraiser.

“We'll have six people pulling horses in each of the races and you can bet on each jockey. The MC on the night will be adjudicating.”

Kicking off at 8.30pm, a great night is guaranteed, with lots of laughs and even some excellent prizes up for grabs.

Those who bought tickets in advance will be entered into a special draw for a weekend away, while raffle tickets will be on sale on the night for a host of other prizes.

“There are lots of raffle prizes, donated by local businesses, so we're very grateful to them and grateful to the Olde Forge for hosting the event,” Orla continued.

Tickets for the raffle can be purchased in advance by contacting Orla (Toher) or Anita Bratten, or from any member of the club's committee.

Tickets can also be purchased on the night.
