Longford ICA tea dance to take place on Sunday

The Longford Federation Afternoon Tea Dance takes place this Sunday, November 6 in the Rugby Club, Longford between 5pm and 8pm. 

Admission is just €10 and Seamus Farrell will perform on the evening.   Refreshments will be provided by Longford Town Guild. 

 Proceeds from the event will go  to Longford Hospice Homecare. 

The annual ICA Christmas Craft Fair takes place in the Temperance Hall, Longford on Saturday, November 26 between 10am and 5pm.

All are welcome to pop in, stroll around and marvel at the beautiful, handcrafted Christmas gifts.

Our next Federation Meeting will take place in Ballinamuck on November 23. 

Competitions on the night include:  The Cookery Cup and the Flower Arranging Competition for the Evelyn Kiernan Memorial Trophy.

The Cookery Cup Menu  consists of a compulsory Smoked Seafood Pie along with  three items from the remaining four: Mint and Pea Soup; Bread & Butter Pudding; Victoria Sponge; Apple and Plum Chutney.

The Evelyn Kiernan Competition comprises a Hall Table arrangement of no more than 30 inches in height and no more than 30 inches wide.  Use fresh, seasonal flowers only. 

For the Craft Competition, members are invited to make a Christmas tree decoration in the shape of a star, made with  material using any medium.

Members are also invited to enter the Produce Competition or the Arts Competition, for which they must create a Sherry Trifle and a Christmas Wreath (any medium), respectively. 

The ICA Lotto draw took place in Fay’s of Granard on Wednesday night last.

The Lotto Jackpot was €3700. 

Numbers drawn: 1, 21, 22, 28. 

There was no Jackpot winner.

€20 winners:   Robert  Johnston, Longford,   Geraldine Horohoe,  Ballyleague, Lanesboro and  Peter Dowler Abbeyderg  ,Kenagh.

The next draw takes place on Wednesday, November 9 in Granard.

The ICA Winter Conference takes place in the Castle Court Hotel in Westport on November 19 at 11am.

The morning session takes place from 11-12.30pm,  with the        afternoon session  between 2 and 4pm.
