Longford Leader: Local death notices

Desmond Colgan, Clonlost, Killucan, Westmeath

The recent death occurred on Wednesday, October 12, peacefully in the Regional Hospital, Mullingar of Desmond Colgan, Clonlost, Killucan, Westmeath, surrounded by his loving family, predeceased by his wife Mairead and brother Paddy, deeply regretted by his loving children John, Maeve and Angela, sisters Frances, Dorothy and Ann, son-in-law Mark, grandson Harvey, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing in St Camillus Nursing Centre Chapel, Killucan on Friday evening, October 14 from 4.30pm followed by Mass at 6pm. Funeral Mass in St Joseph’s Church, Turin on Saturday, October 15 at 12 noon with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Austin Dobson, Clonageeragh, Fore, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath
The recent death occurred on Thursday, October 13 of Austin Dobson, late of Clonageeragh, Fore, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath and also of Fore Motorcycle Racing Club Ltd & B.D Flood Ltd after many years of ill-health bravely borne.

Deeply regretted by his wife and best friend Noeleen, daughters Noeleen, Olivia (O'Grady), Paula (Fagan) and Breege (Smith), sons-in-law Ollie, Cathal and Stephen, his grandchildren Kayleigh, Cathal Óg, Austin, Taylor and Emlyn, his sister Nan Hughes, his step brothers Oliver, Micheal, Martin and Noel Griffin, his step sisters Bernadette Ahmed, Caroline Cooper and Bronwen Habberley, his best friend Pat Coyle, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends. May Austin rest in peace.

 Reposing at his home on Friday, October 14 from 3pm to 8pm and on Saturday, October 15 from 2pm to 6pm. House strictly private thereafter. Removal on Sunday, October 16, arriving in St Feichin's Church, Fore for 2pm Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Heart Foundation & the Irish Cancer Society.

Nancy Matthews (née Connell), Cloneen, Dring, Co Longford
The recent death occurred on Tuesday, October 11 of Nancy Matthews (nee Connell) , Cloneen, Dring, Co. Longford and formerly of Killasonna, in her 92nd year.

Predeceased by her husband Matty. Peacefully after a short illness in the loving care of the staff of Autumn Lodge, St Joseph's, Longford.

Deeply regretted by her son Patrick, nephews, nieces and wide circle of friends. Rest in Peace.

Requiem Mass on Friday, October 14 at 11am in St Columba's Church, Mullinalaghta with burial immediately afterwards in the local cemetery. Donations, if desired, to St Joseph's Patients' Comfort Fund and Longford Palliative Care.

John - Frank McKeon, Smear Road, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford
The recent death has occurred on Tuesday October 11 of John – Frank McKeon,  Smear Road, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford. Predeceased by his parents Rose and Patrick and his brother Pat. John-Frank died peacefully at the Mater Hospital, Dublin surrounded by his family.

John-Frank will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Helen, his adored children Shauna, Caoimhe, Lauren, Siobhan, Niamh, Oisin, brothers Gerry (Smear), Cieran (Pulladoey), Enda (Ballinalee), sisters Anna May McCabe (Cornadrung), Margaret Caherly (USA), Rosaleen McGee (Smear Road), Bernadette McCarthy (Farragh, Killoe), nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, mother-in-law Mary Gorham, aunts Sr Anna May Reilly (USA), Mrs Briget Reilly (Cornadrung), relatives, neighbours, friends and his close friend Pat Brady.

John-Frank's remains will be reposing at his home on Friday, October 14 from 12 noon and also on Saturday, October 15 from 11am to 3pm. Remains will arrive to St Colmcille's Church, Aughnacliffe, on Saturday, October 15 for prayers at 5pm. Requiem Mass on Sunday, October 16 at 1pm with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Family time from 3pm on Saturday please.
