Funeral arrangements of Longford man who died following tragic farm accident outside Ballinalee

The funeral arrangements for the late Seán Reilly of Gelsha, Ballinalee have been announced.

Mr Reilly lost his life yesterday evening (Wednesday, September 28) following a tragic farm accident close to his home.  

He is survived by his wife Bridget; daughters Eileen (O’Neill), Caroline and Lisa; sons Liam and Brendan; sisters Mary Farrell (Ballinalee), Bridget O’Neill (Balbriggan); son-in-law; daughter-in-law; grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and a large circle of friends.  

Reposing at his home from 12 noon on Friday, September 30 until 9pm and again on Saturday, October 1 from 12 noon, the late Seán Reilly’s Funeral Mass will take place on Sunday at 1pm in St Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe.  

Leading the tributes this morning, Cllr Micheál Carrigy said Mr Reilly was a hardworking family man before conveying his deepest sympathy to the dead man’s wife and family.

“This was a tragic accident and we are all very shocked," said Cllr Carrigy.

He added, “The entire community is saddened over this tragic accident. Seán was a hardworking, decent man and everyone is shocked over what has happened.”
