Longford bodies shortlisted for Pakman awards

Revamp 3R Furniture Store and Mulleadys Ltd have been shortlisted among the the finalists for the Pakman Awards 2016. 

The Pakman awards are awarded for excellence in waste management and recycling. 

The 3R Store is shortlisted for the ‘Community Recycling Project of the Year’ category along with ReCreate Ireland and Leitrim County Council. The category is sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Waste Management Association (CIWM). 

Mulleadys Ltd is shortlisted in the ‘Waste Collection Operator of the Year (Small)’ category along with Dillon Waste and Rehab Glassco. The category is sponsored by the Irish Waste Management Association (IWMA). 

The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony on Thursday, October 27, in the Intercontinental Hotel, Ballsbridge, Dublin. Guest speaker will be Mr Denis Naughten, TD, Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment and each of the category winners will be in the running for the Overall Pakman Award. 

The 3R Store is no stranger to winning awards. In the past Revamp Training and Store has represented the county in the ‘Pride of Place’ awards. 

It also won first place in a ‘Social Enterprise and Entrepreneurship Programme’ which was run in the county along with eight other enterprises. It has featured several times on Nationwide, Primetime and on Irish TV.
