Ballymahon parking issues to be examined

Consultancy experts are to oversee a major study aimed at solving a number of long standing issues in Ballymahon.

Local authority bosses plan on appointing the firm over the coming weeks ahead of completing a report for publication early next year.

At the top of items up for review include looking at safe parking options at first and second level schools as well as more generalised  parking concerns  in the town.

Similarly, lingering concerns over the lack of a suitable taxi rank are likewise being targeted.

Details of the new departure were revealed at a Municipal District meeting last Wednesday.

“We are proposing to bring in consultants to look at the town planning and identify requirements over the next ten years,” said Director of Services John Brannigan.
