Longford Cllr joins peace commission

Longford County Councillor PJ Reilly has been appointed to the Office of Peace Commissioner by Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald.

The powers and duties of Peace Commissioners include taking statutory declarations, witnessing signatures on documents  required by various authorities and signing certificates and orders under various Acts.

Cllr Reilly said confirmation of his elevation to the Office was one he was very much looking forward to.

“I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed by the Justice Minister,” he said.
