Cooney girls 'home' to Longford for a special reunion

Cooney girls 'home' to Longford for a special reunion

It is thirty years  since the Cooney family from Knappogue, Clondra packed their bags to start a new life in Perth.

Parents Liz and Eamon and their four daughters Sinead, Tanya, Lynn and Lisa travelled across the world to set up home, leaving family and friends behind.

Now three decades later, the Cooneys are returning for a very special reunion to be held in their native Clondra.  The family are coming home for the wedding of their cousin Paul McDonnell who is getting married to Barbara King from Castlebar.   Liz and her daughters Sinead, Tanya, Lynn and Lisa are due ‘home’ next week but unfortunately Eamon is not coming back this time.

Now successful young women in their own right, Sinead, Tanya, Lynn and Lisa are holding a very special reunion with  McDonnell cousins, Clondra; Farrell cousins from New Jersey and North  Carolina and their many old school friends from Clondra NS and Newtownforbes Secondary School.

The reunion will be held in the Richmond Inn, Clondra on Saturday August 13 from  7.30pm onwards and the family are issuing an open invitation to  all their old friends from ‘back in the day’ to  join them on the day  for a trip down memory lane.
