Residents appeal Edgeworthstown solar farm decision

Residents appeal Edgeworthstown solar farm decision

A decision by Longford County Council to grant planning permission for a solar farm on the outskirts of Edgeworthstown has been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.

The decision, which was made in June of this year, was objected to by a number of residents - some of whom argued that no provision had been made in the County Development Plan for such farms.

The application - initiated by Elgin Energy Services Ltd - seeks to build a solar farm at Lisnageeragh, Edgeworthstown  on land that is accessed from the Bracklin Road.

The development incorporates 14.5 hectares and is located approximately 1.5km north east of Edgeworthstown.
