A benefit night is being held in Cooney’s Ballymahon on July 29 in aid of local man Paddy Killian.
The 55-year-old is wheelchair bound following a bad accident on March 16 last year which left him with serious spinal injuries.
Speaking to the Longford Leader, Paddy said “It was a freak accident”.
He explained that he was walking on the Mullingar road when he “slipped off a high kerb and ended up in Mullingar Hospital”.
Paddy sustained C3 and C5 spinal injuries and is now confined to a wheelchair, relying on help from friends and family.
