Fianna Fail T.D. Robert Troy has blasted cuts to home help hours provided to patients in the Westmeath-Longford area.
Deputy Troy questioned how the Minister McEntee and The Department of Health can stand over allocating an additional €40 million to the home help service when hours that are already in the system are not being reallocated.
“The hours in Longford-Westmeath have been cut. If someone who had ten hours passes away today, only 25% of those hours are reallocated. I can give the House three examples in my constituency”, Deputy Troy told the Dail last week.
