Rare books from Carriglass Manor to be sold at auction

Books from Carriglass Manor in Longford will be among the items for sale at an upcoming auction at Ushers Auction Rooms in Kells.  The auction of rare books, manuscripts, literature and historical memorabilia includes second part of the sale of books from Carriglass Library and will feature many items of local interest.  

Memorabilia from the famous Longford house includes Augustine Hugh Lefroy’s handwritten house accounts in two volumes and his handwritten diary from Aldershot, as well as  leather encased Ordnance Survey of Ireland Longford sheets embossed on spine Right Hon. Thomas Lefroy 1838.

Viewing for this auction takes place at Ushers  Auction Rooms, John Street, Kells, Co. Meath on Monday  June 20 and Tuesday June 21  from 10am  to 5pm. The auction takes place on Wednesday June 22 at 11.30am
