Groups all over the county are marking the 1916 centenary in their own ways, and Creative Ardagh is no different.
As part of the County Longford 1916 centenary programme, Creative Ardagh will host a Time Travel Day Out to 1916 on Saturday, May 21 at 3pm.
A spokesperson for Creative Ardagh explained; “We are planning to screen a 1916 documentary on this family day and showcase projects on the theme.
“We are very aware that all of the local schools have been working hard on the commemorations and have great displays and videos completed. We would be delighted to showcase these 1916 projects at our family day.”
Anyone interested in showcasing their class work can contact Annette on 086 3027602; Ann on 087 2326553 or email email@example.com.
Creative Ardagh’s ‘Reliving History’ School Programme has also become a great success. Designed in conjunction with the Ireland 1916/2016 Longford committee, it focuses on the role of the Arts in inspiring the Rising and offers a hands-on experience of what life was like 100 years ago.
“As well as a guided tour of our dedicated 1916 room an art workshop is included,” the spokesperson continued.
