WEEE Ireland, the Irish compliance scheme for electrical and battery recycling holds collection events that allow people to get rid of any household electrical equipment and batteries in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
The collection event, in association with Longford County Council will take place on Wednesday May 11 in Ballymahon Mart from 10am-4pm.
According to WEEE, anything in the home with a battery or a plug can be recycled at these collections. Waste collection specialists from WEEE Ireland will be there at these events to help people send their old and broken toasters, vacuum cleaners, fridges and every other electrical item imaginable to a better place.
Every battery that is recycled this year goes towards a monetary donation for the exceptional LauraLynn@HOME service that is provided by LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice. You can help by clearing out all old batteries and recycling through WEEE Ireland.
