Thieves made off with a substantial haul of household items after a vacant house in Longford town was targeted last week.

Cash, gold jewellery, a number of Waterford Crystal glass ornaments and two shotguns were all stolen in the incident at a house in the Glebe View estate.

Gardaí believe the culprits struck sometime between 10pm last Thursday (April 14) and 11am the following morning by prising open a back window.

Witnesses sought

In particular, Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who may have noticed anything untoward over the course of last Thursday night/Friday morning, and are urging witnesses to make contact with them.

Equally, anyone who may have been offered any of the stolen items for sale are also asked to contact Longford Gardaí.
