Three men charged in connection with possession of €20,000 worth of cannabis were remanded on bail following a hearing into the matter at last week’s sitting of Longford District Court.
Lukasz Frajczak (26), 17 Moy Close, Ballymahon, Co Longford; Pawel Mazurek (32), 11 Moy Close, Ballymahon, Co Longford and Jacek Srocznski (36), 17 Moy Close, Ballymahon, Co Longford appeared before Judge Seamus Hughes charged with being in possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply at Moy Close, Ballymahon on August 3, 2015.
Mr Mazurek was further charged with being in possession of ammunition for a firearm while Mr Srocznski was also charged with cultivating cannabis plants and two counts of being in possession of amphetamines in Ballymahon on the same date.
The court heard that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) had directed that all defendants be tried on indictment at the circuit court.
Gardaí said they needed more time to prepare the books of evidence in the case, so the Judge subsequently remanded all three defendants on bail and ordered them to appear back before the court on April 24 next when it is expected that the books of evidence will be served.
