Local girls aged 13-17 are being invited to the Longford Local Enterprise Office, Templemichael, this Saturday, March 19 as Girls Hack Ireland bring their innovative workshop for teens to the county.
Specialising in creating innovative, creative and fun events, based on science, technology, engineering and maths, Girls Hack Ireland will host a total of three workshops in Longford this year.
Aiming to help address the gender gap that exists in the STEM subjects, the programme will take place from 10am – 1pm.
Girls under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and the accompanying parent/guardian will have the option of attending a parallel, similarly-themed workshop themselves. No experience in web design or coding is necessary.
Highlighted as a supportive, relaxed afternoon of learning, the workshop is free of charge and all equipment, including laptops, will be provided. However, tickets must be booked in advance via the website www.girlshackireland.org For more information, visit the website, www.facebook.com/GirlsHackIreland or search for @GirlsHackIRL on Twitter.
