Longford town recently scooped the Cleanest Town in Ireland award from Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL).
To mark the win, IBAL will sponsor a specially commissioned sculpture for Longford town. It is believed the final cost of the piece of public art could be in the region of €25,000. IBAL is leaving the decision on the nature of the piece with Longford County Council.
The Public Art Committee in Longford is meeting on Monday to examine proposals for the town’s newest sculpture and they would like to hear suggestions from the public.
What do you think would be a fitting piece of public art in honour of Longford’s win?
