A previous St Patrick's Day parade in Longford town
Road users have been advised of several road closures that will be taking place to facilitate the St Patrick’s Day parade tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17.
The roads will be closed from 2pm until 10pm however the reopening may occur in advance of the advertised time and once it is deemed safe for access.
The parade route is from Church Street proceeding down Main Street, Dublin Street, New Street, Ballymahon Street, turning left onto Killashee Street, Harbour Row before concluding at Aldi.

Please note there will be no parking on Dublin Street, Ballymahon Street and Church Street from 1pm on St Patrick’s Day.
The roads scheduled for temporary closure include Parade Route, Battery Road at the Demesne Roundabout to Killashee Street.

With regard to alternative routes in place for the duration of the closure, all through traffic is requested to use the N4 and N5 Longford Town by-passes.
Traffic management and signed diversions will be in place for local traffic.
