Bobby, a rescue dog, out with his lovely owner in Market Square today
Passersby in Longford town's Market Square couldn't resist smiling as a small almost-teddy-bear-like dog sporting a heart-shaped fur patch tried to run excitedly in all directions, ignoring the limitations of his leash and distracted between the people wanting to pet him and the cars passing by him.
"This is Bobby," smiles his owner, "he's a rescue."
With Longford County Pound currently in possession of many beautiful dogs of all ages in need of a forever home, the importance of the age-old message ‘adopt, don’t shop’ resonates more than ever.

Longford County Council's website have details of dogs both lost and found, and anyone interested in applying to give a dog a good home just needs to fill out an online rehoming application form which can be found under the 'rehome a dog' tab on their home page.
