Emergency services were on the scene at Harbour Row in Longford Town today following the discovery of a man's body in an apartment block.

Gardaí do not believe the death was suspicious.

Two ambulances and an unmarked squad car were first on the scene, followed by a Garda van, Garda jeep, an ambulance car and two fire brigades.

A priest was called to the scene to administer the last rites, after which the man's body was removed from the property by members of the emergency services and taken to the morgue by a local undertaker.

Services continued to remain on the scene for a number of hours.
