Six leading German tour operators are exploring Longford and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The group’s action-packed itinerary included cycling with Ballymahon Greenway Cycles, a cooking experience at Cloughan Farm and Cookery School and a visit to the Maria Edgeworth Centre.
Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Germany, stated these tour operators are important partners for them as they bring valuable German tourists to Ireland each year.
“Working with the travel trade remains an important element of Tourism Ireland’s promotional activity in Germany and we were delighted to invite these leading German tour operators – who bring valuable tourists to Ireland – to visit Longford and Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands," she said. "Our aim is to encourage them to extend the Ireland content of their programmes, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2025 and beyond.”
Tourism Ireland aims to familiarise them with our superb tourism offering, given that this is a key time to influence the addition of new tourism products to their programmes for 2025 and beyond.
