Longford gardaí issue warning over scam artists looking to tar private driveways

'It is not the practice of Longford County Council to tar private driveways'

Longford gardaí and Longford County Council have issued a warning alert over scam artists looking to tar private driveways.

Gardaí are advising people not to engage with people who call to their home unless 'you are sure they are reputable'. 

Longford County Council say they have been notified of persons pertaining to be county council road staff members and/or persons claiming to be undertaking work on their behalf. 

A Council spokesperson stated, "It is not the practice of Longford County Council to tar private driveways."
