Longford parish well represented on The Late Late Show

Local couple win tickets to Ireland versus Scotland Six Nations clash

Longford parish well represented on The Late Late Show

The north Longford half parish of Mullinalaghta and their Cavan parish neighbours Loch Gowna were extremely well-represented on last Friday night’s Late Late Show with Kevin McGahern from The Rocks being interviewed by host Patrick Kielty in connection with his new comedy tour, while Laura Callaghan from Derrycassan formed part of the studio céilí band for the night on the banjo.

The big winners of the night, however, were Mullinalaghta's own Scots-Irish couple, Joan and John Reilly, Aughanoran, when Paddy Kielty went into the audience to find out about how the two met when Joan was visiting Dublin and John was her taxi-man for the weekend.

Joan was presented with an Ireland jersey and herself and John with two tickets for the Ireland-Scotland rugby match in Lansdowne Road.

Congratulations to them all and commiserations to Joan on the result but you can’t have everything and there’s always next year.
