Company co-founded by Longford men opens first office in UK and announces 50 new jobs

CitySwift, a company co-founded by Longford men Brian O'Rourke and Alan Farrelly, has opened its first office in the UK and announced 50 new jobs for Ireland and the UK and a new partnership with Transport North East in the UK. 

Marking the accelerated pace of growth of Irish companies in the UK, Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath T.D. visited London to attend a series of events with Enterprise Ireland client companies including CitySwift, Version 1, EPS Water, Fexco and Bounce Insights who are all on a trajectory of rapid growth in the market.

Minister McGrath officially opened CitySwift’s first UK office, based in London. 

Brian O'Rourke is the Chief Executive Officer of CitySwift and Alan Farrelly is the Chief Commercial Officer of CitySwift. and both men are natives of Kenagh and past pupils of Mercy Ballymahon. 

CitySwift is the leading company in data intelligence for the public transport sector has made a huge impact in the UK market, growing its customer base by 150% in 2023, working with major transport operators including National Express, Go-Ahead Group, Transport for Wales, Metroline, Translink and Blackpool Transport.  

The company has announced that it is creating 50 new jobs for Ireland and the UK over the coming 2 years, as well as a new partnership with Transport North East in the UK. 

Alan was one of the guests at the recent ‘AI: The Way Forward’ business event in Longford’s Backstage Theatre.

Minister McGrath said, "Companies such as CitySwift  and many more are utilising their innovation and expertise to tap into new markets in the UK supporting their growth and employment levels and I wish them continued success.”
