QUIZ

A brilliant night was had by all at the Longford County Community Games Quiz Competition in the Rustic Inn Abbeyshrule on January 30. We were delighted to see the huge turnout. Results on the night were; 1st Longford South, 2nd Colmcille, 3rd Ballymahon / Forgney, 4th Killoe.

A special word of thanks to Quizmaster Eamon Brennan who did a great job and kept the children very entertained on the evening, to the volunteers who helped out and to our ever dependable secretary Shirley who as always, ensured that everything ran like clockwork. A sincere word of thanks also, to Midland Trophies for sponsoring the trophies for the quiz and to Edward and the Rustic Inn staff for their warm hospitality in hosting the quiz.

Last but certainly not least, thank you to the parents who travelled to the competition. It was easy to see that the quiz was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Well done to all of the teams that took part. The great news this year is that two teams can go forward to the Nationals.

Best of luck to Longford South and Colmcille who will now represent Longford at the National Finals in Kilkenny in June.
