Longford man pleads guilty to threatening to kill former partner
A man charged with the false imprisonment and assault of his former partner has pleaded guilty at Longford Circuit Court to threatening to kill her during the course of the incident.
Paul Boyce (46) with an address in Legan, Co Longford, was just over two days into his jury trial when a guilty plea was entered to the charge of threatening to kill or cause serious harm to his partner on April 1 or April 2, 2023.
Mr Boyce had previously pleaded guilty to the false imprisonment and the section 3 assault of his former partner.
A nolles prosequi was entered in regard to one count of endangerment, with the DPP deciding not to proceed with prosecution on that count.
Mr Boyce has been remanded in custody to February 16 for mention and it is hoped he will be sentenced later in the sittings.
